A TRANSFORMATIONAL JOURNEY IN VALUES-BASED CARE

This programme is designed for a wide range of professionals across healthcare and support services including:

  • Doctors, nurses, and allied health teams

  • Psychologists, therapists, and support staff

  • Hospice, midwifery, and rehabilitation teams

  • Community outreach and primary care groups

  • Multidisciplinary teams across healthcare sectors

  • And now we have expanded to support service providers from all professions who need care eg. educators, students, community workers etc.

Introductory Module: Building Resilience

Theme: A practical and positive response to stress and burnout

This module sets the tone for the programme, helping participants explore how values-based reflection can strengthen emotional resilience. It introduces tools for self-care and stress management, and encourages a shift from reactive coping to proactive renewal.

Module 1: Values – Gain Strength Through Motivation

Theme: Discovering personal values as a source of energy and direction
Participants identify the values that matter most to them and explore how these can guide their decisions, relationships, and professional purpose. This module lays the foundation for authentic, values-driven practice.

Module 2: Peace – Benefit from Being Calm

Theme: Cultivating inner calm to support wellbeing and clarity
Through meditation and reflection, participants reconnect with their natural state of peacefulness. This module helps reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and foster a more grounded approach to care.

Module 3: Positivity – Harness the Power of Thoughts

Theme: Transforming thought patterns to uplift mood and motivation
Participants learn to observe and shift unhelpful thinking habits, replacing them with constructive, empowering perspectives. This module supports emotional resilience and optimism in challenging environments.

Module 4: Compassion – Release Healing Energy

Theme: Deepening empathy and kindness in personal and professional care
This module explores the barriers to compassion—such as guilt, anger, and anxiety—and offers tools to consciously express compassion in relationships, teams, and patient care.

Module 5: Co-operation – Appreciate the Wisdom of Teams

Theme: Building collaborative, values-based team dynamics
Participants reflect on the attitudes and behaviours that foster trust, creativity, and shared purpose. This module strengthens team spirit and encourages non-competitive, joyful collaboration.

Module 6: Valuing Yourself – Sustaining the Carer

Theme: Recognising personal worth and prioritising self-care
This module invites participants to explore identity, self-respect, and the importance of caring for oneself. It supports long-term wellbeing and helps prevent burnout by restoring balance and purpose.

Module 7: Spirituality in Healthcare – Spiritual Care in Practice

Theme: Integrating spiritual awareness into holistic healthcare
Participants clarify concepts of healing, spirit, and spirituality, and explore how these can enhance their practice. This module encourages deeper meaning, presence, and connection in care environments.

EACH MODULE INCLUDES:​​

 

  • Two half-day sessions

  • A blend of experiential exercises, reflection, and group dialogue

  • Action planning and evaluation

  • Optional warm-ups and closure activities

  • Integration of the Seven Spiritual Tools

THE PROGRAMME IS DESIGNED TO:

  • Help individuals and teams explore and express values in care

  • Inspire personal spiritual growth and practical application

  • Deepen motivation and responsibility in decision-making

  • Improve staff wellbeing, communication, and cooperation

  • Encourage educators to integrate values into healthcare training

The programme supports the UK NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF), particularly in: Communication and Personal & People Development

The programme was developed by the Janki Foundation for Global Health Care, a UK-based charity dedicated to promoting holistic approaches to healthcare. The Foundation supports the integration of human values, spirituality, and self-care into professional practice, with a focus on inner development and compassionate service.
