On 2 October 2025, Raksha engaged with 150 high school learners at Liberty Christian College in Zimbabwe, inviting them to reflect on what truly matters in life and how they can navigate a challenging world with greater self-awareness and purpose.
The session focused on living a positive lifestyle grounded in personal values. Drawing on the well-known regrets of the dying, Raksha shared the powerful reflection: “I wish I had led a life true to myself and not what others expected of me.”
Learners were encouraged to ask themselves: Who am I? What do I stand for? What are my values? In a world where young people can be influenced by peers, social media and external expectations, the session emphasised the importance of knowing oneself and making choices aligned with what truly matters.
Through an interactive exercise, learners identified their individual strengths and values. The room came alive as they enthusiastically called out their values, helping to reinforce these qualities and consciously anchor them in their lives.
The session also acknowledged the realities faced by many learners, including those from single-parent households who may experience limited physical support. They were reminded that even when human support feels absent, they can draw strength from a Higher Support.
The session concluded with an introduction to SOS, a VIHASA tool for making meaning of emotional challenges. The experience created a profound sense of peace, with many learners expressing a desire to remain in that peaceful space.
This Zimbabwean engagement reflects VIHASA’s growing reach across Southern Africa and its commitment to empowering young people through values, positivity, inner strength and connection.
